These ruins are located perfectly in line with the ocean which is a great way to see both history and the beauty of the ocean.  The best ruin in Tulum to see is definitely the Mayan Ruins Tower which was previously a walled off city. 

Another great spot in Mexico for discovering hidden ruins is in Coba. The ruins in Coba are in a jungle setting. There are hidden treasures as far as the eye can see, small and large pyramids, as well as ruins and historical sites spanning over 26 square miles. 

Lastly, the ruins in Uxmal are impressive and should not be missed. The ruins are very detailed and ornate. They were used previously for great ceremonies to call for rain since Uxmal was not in close proximity to a cenote or body of water for the residents to use.
