We arrived at the resort and were immediately greeted by an escort who took us to the lobby. My tour of the property wasn’t for a 2 ½ hours so we were free to explore and enjoy the resort. We were hungry and so we headed over to BBQ park. My children enjoyed hamburgers and smoothies while I ordered the jerk chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked and spiced and I enjoyed it very much. BBQ Park was part of the recent renovations and the ocean view seating is breathtaking. Next stop, the pirate water park. It looked very inviting with the crystal blue water and three sets of water slides for each age group. There was also a crossing net with movable floaties. My kids actually had the most fun with this. I would recommend bringing some sort of gloves for your children as mine quickly developed blisters from hanging onto the rope. Latest specials and promotions.: Beaches Resort Info After the water park, we headed for the beach. The ocean is absolutely gorgeous with multiple shades of Caribbean blue. The beach is not a long stretch of sand like you might find in Negril. However, I enjoyed the quaintness of it and didn’t have to worry about my children running off too far. After enjoying the refreshing water, we decided to take the ocean kayak out for a quick spin. My kids and I had a good time with this and there were plenty of giggles to go around. It was time for my resort tour so I took my kids to the kids club so they could give me a report on their experience while I toured the property. Latest specials and promotions.: Beaches Resort Info The kids club had many different rooms for the different age groups. There was a room for babies/toddlers, arts and crafts room, theater room, etc. My children participated in the activities and thoroughly enjoyed them. My son in typical fashion headed right for the xbox lounge. My daughter participated in the boscolympics which was the current activity for the time frame. I was able to inspect the room category of Caribbean Honeymoon Oceanview Concierge Veranda Suite. I was stunned at how large the room and balcony were. The room with the recent color updates appeared fresh and comfortable. It had a beautiful view of the resort and ocean. Beaches Ocho Rios has been recently renovated. All the rooms and suites were updated. The main pool and lounge area was expanded with new pool cabanas and recreated lazy zone for little ones. Some of the restaurants got updates as well. The property was in great shape. I noticed a few little things, like the elevator going down to the beach could use a fresh coat of paint. However, I have no doubt this has already been taken care of. The service at Beaches Ocho Rios is what really stood out for me. From the moment we stepped off the van to the time we left, someone was always there to assist us. Everyone was super friendly and incredibly accommodating. I was impressed at how often the staff made a point of talking to my children or getting them to engage in an activity. I was also impressed at how many times I was offered a beverage or snack. I don’t know what the staff to guest ratio is but it seemed like there was staff everywhere waiting to assist.
Beaches Ocho Rios is located about 15 minutes outside of Ocho Rios. This makes it convenient to go into the town for the many excursions that are offered such as climbing Dunns River Falls, ziplining, bobsledding, etc. To book this amazing week in paradise contact Dominique at Bliss Travel Service for the latest specials and promotions.
